Biography

Charlotte was awarded her PhD from the School of Psychology at NUI Galway in 2016. Her dissertation topic focused on investigating the factors that predict public mental health stigma in young people and assessing the effectiveness of a pilot anti-stigma intervention programme. After completing her PhD, Charlotte worked as a post-doctoral researcher on an IRC funded project which focused on developing and evaluating interactive sexual consent workshops for university students. Charlotte currently works as a post-doctoral researcher with the UNESCO Child & Family Research Centre on the Youth Empathy and Social Values (YES) project. The YES project is part of a new, collaborative initiative investigating the development and promotion of empathy and social values among young people in Ireland. As part of her work at the centre, Charlotte also contributes to other youth related research projects, such as youth mentoring.

In addition to her research activities, Charlotte teaches on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including developmental psychology and research methods, and supervises a number of undergraduate and postgraduate research dissertations.
