Welcome to the College of Science
The College of Science offer a range of research-led programmes at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Post-Doctoral levels. The Bachelor of Science Programmes are structured yet flexible allowing students take a variety of science subjects, exploring their interests and passions. Our science programmes provide students with a sound basis for a variety of careers.
Scientific training and research contributes significantly to knowledge generation, technology development and translation, and to our economic and societal development. Accordingly, job and job satisfaction prospects for science graduates are excellent.
Message from the Dean
The College of Science comprises four Schools and two Research Institutes, which cover our principal areas of expertise in teaching and research.
The College offers a wide range of Degree Programmes across exciting, progressive and diverse scientific subjects, from Undergraduate to PhD level. The Bachelor of Science programmes are structured yet flexible, allowing students to explore options as they proceed to their final year specialisation whilst providing training for students to help them secure a rewarding career.
Our research excellence across the Scientific disciplines, encompassing targeted thematic areas of Biomedical, Environment, Marine and Energy research generates high-impact fundamental knowledge, provides training to researchers, and contributes to regional and national economic development. The quality and aptitude of our graduates makes them highly sought after, both within the profession and elsewhere. Employment prospects for science graduates and researchers are excellent and diverse.

The staff and post-graduate students of the College of Science have a strong commitment to original research, both pure and applied, across a wide range of scientific areas. Many of our researchers are working at the leading edge of research in their fields and enjoy a prominent international reputation.

Our researchers engage in a significant degree of academic and industrial collaboration, at regional, national and international levels.

We cherish the richness and diversity of our popular Study Abroad Programme which gives students the experience that they bring back to our community from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(HKUST), University of California, USA and John Carroll University, Ohio.
